Red Box Energy Services B.V. registers M/V Audax in Curacao

Red Box Energy Services B.V. approached Dammers Shipmanagement Inc. in December 2015, inquiring about the possible registration of the two new build Polar Class heavy Transport Carrier vessels in the Curaçao ship registry, right after their delivery from the shipyard in 2016.

 

The Maritime Authority of Curaçao pledged their 100% cooperation and the entire process, from enquiry to full registration was very smooth. Dammers also assisted with the legal and financial requirements for the full registration.

 

The provisional registration was completed by January 16th, 2016 and all original Curaçao certificates where handed over to the company’s superintendent in time for the vessel to depart the shipyard with original Curacao Crew documents and certificates on board on January 18th, 2016. Red Box Energy Services B.V. already had two new build (2015) General Cargo vessels registered in the Curaçao Bareboat registry. The full registration for the Audax’ sister vessel, the M/v Pugnax, will follow in March.

AUDAX MADE STOP OVER IN SINGAPORE

AUDAX and its sister ship PUGNAX are 28,500 dwt ships, which are being built at GSI's LongXue Shipyard in Guangzhou, China. The PC-3/ARC7 module carriers, will be capable of navigating year round above the Arctic Circle, and have been designed for the transportation of ultra-large and heavy modular cargoes to major onshore LNG projects, and to large-scale offshore developments in temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees centigrade. The sterns of each ship will be completely flush and open, with an open space measuring 7,482 square meters. ZPMC - Red Box Energy Services' chief executive officer, Philip Adkins, says that AUDAX was "designed, built and delivered in less than 20 months, on time, to specification and on budget ". Something that was considered impossible by many in the industry. "We financed the vessel with a 95 percent sale and leaseback facility, which was also considered to be impossible in the current market.The AUDAX went in service immediately upon delivery in January 2016 providing module transport services for cargoes destined for Russia's huge Yamal LNG project, which is designed and commissioned by a consortium consisting of Technip, JGC Corporation and Chiyoda Engineering. At 43 m in width the two new ships will be the largest polar ice-class vessels ever designed with ice-breaking capabilities of 1.5 m of ice at a speed of four knots, says Philip Adkins."The generators are capable of producing 24 MW, enough to electrify a city of 50,000 people and will be able to transport modules weighing up to 20,000 tonnes. These two ships pack quite a powerful punch and we are looking forward to seeing them both in operation in the first quarter of 2016."
