Ensco DS-3 drillship back in Curacao
Because of repairs, she stayed at the Mega pier for a total 5 days, during which two separate crew changes were performed (140 crew), bunkers were taken, FFV brought on board and spares delivered and offloaded. Miami Divers were in charge of the repairs and the Curacao Drydock Company assisted the vessel with gauge calibration and cooler cleaning. The Renaissance Hotel provided the rooms for the ENSCO crew and third party personnel.
The rig will now go the US gulf, to drill the well that she was first scheduled to drill two years ago, prior to the Macondo incident in the US Gulf.
A familiar sight:
Big drilling rig moored at the Megapier. In the background the Plaza Hotel tower can be seen on the other side of the Willemstad harbor entrance. On this side of the entrance lies the Renaissance hotel, a mere 3-4 minute walk to the Megapier.
