Aruba’s ports are located along the southern side of the island and are sheltered from the seas and wind.
The port of Oranjestad is currently undergoing a transformation: its cargo functions have moved to the Barcadera terminal and the newly-renovated port will focus on cruise tourism.
The Barcadera multi-cargo sea terminal is now a dedicated cargo terminal, handling both container and breakbulk cargo.
The San Nicolas "CITGO" refinery is located toward the east. This facility also serves as an oil storage and transshipment facility.
Aruba also has two offshore anchorage locations for transshipment and maintenance.
