Seadrill's newest rig "West Neptune" offport Curacao
About 400 people travelled to- and from Curacao for the call of the West Neptune, most of them crew members & technicians whom signed on/off while the rig was here. They stayed at the Renaissance and Hilton hotels. The crew changes were arranged by launch from Willemstad. When the rig was in position, off port Willemstad, the ride to the rig from the launch station took only about 30-40 minutes.
Crews embarked/disembarked from the launch boats at the Nieuwe wharf, right in front of the Immigrations offices and the friendly Mobile Customs Officers Team cooperated by being on time, on location, each time a launch boat came and went. This made the crew changes very efficent, with zero waiting time for the crews. Total time from the rig to the hotel was about 60-70 minutes for each run.
While off port, about 25 Tons of spares were delivered to the rig by barge, while the rig backloaded trash and export items.
