Stanislav Yudin mobilization project in Aruba

01 april 2019

The project was carried out at the Barcadera terminal, which is still under construction (to be fully ready by July 2015). The Barcadera project berth is 350 meters in length with a water depth of almost 11 meters, located on the Southern shore of the island, in a sheltered water basin.

The project involves the Heavy Lift Crane vessel "Stanislav Yudin"  to be deployed in the Perla field in Venezuela for installation of topsides and underwater works. To support the main vessel and to aide to the mobilization in Aruba, 3 Anchor Handling tugs and 2 big barges were also moored alongside at the Barcadera terminal. The vessels performed crew changes and took on many spares and specialized equipment, which were shipped to Aruba in advance. Curoil's bunker tanker also moored at Barcadera and supplied all the vessels with fuel.

Once the vessels start working in the field in Venezuela, crew changes and project support will continue to be performed from Aruba.

Caribbean Port Agencies wishes to thank the Aruban government for their incredible support during this project. Also, the Directorate of Shipping Aruba (DSA) and the Aruba Ports Authority (APA) for their dedication and perseverance in realizing this project. Many thanks also to Seaway Heavy Lifting for choosing Aruba and for undertaking the first major project at the Barcadera terminal ! It was (and still is) an incredible Team effort.
