Port of Willemstad

The Port of Willemstad is the main port of the island of Curaçao. All kinds of maritime facilities for all types of incoming and outgoing vessels are available. With the new T-shaped jetty outside the St. Anna Bay, the Port of Willemstad can handle more than one mega cruiseliner at the time. Shipping has been vital to Curaçao ever since Dutch settlers arrived in the early 1600’s. Nowadays, Port of Willemstad boasts a major regional oil refinery and transshipment center, a modern container terminal, a dynamic economic zone and a large commercial dry-dock.

The Port of Willemstad is the largest of all the ports and houses most of the shipping facilities available on the island. The entrance channel to this port, the St. Anna Bay, is situated in Willemstad, the capital of
Curaçao. Ships dock at the various terminals located at the Otrobanda side of the bay. At the end of this entry channel lies the Schottegat area, which houses the main facilities of the port, including
an oil refinery and dry-dock, an economic zone area, container terminal and cargo wharves. All these facilities are located directly in the harbor.
